A Quick Guide to Hot Tub Filter Maintenance

Spa filters may be more important than you realize. They skim out most of the gunk that is flowing through the hot tub so that you don’t have to soak in it, making your tub time much more enjoyable and your chemicals more effective.
However, if you don’t keep clean & replace them regularly, those dirty or worn out filter cartridges can really put a strain on things up in your spa plumbing. Think about it this way: if you were to never empty your vacuum’s bag or canister, how well would the vacuum run? Not very well at all!

So to help you get a good filter maintenance routine going, we made this Quick Guide infographic. We broke it down into three steps:
- Refresh
- Rotate
- Replace

If you do need to replace your cartridges, Clarathon Ultra Premium Filters are the highest quality spa filters for the best price, and the Fast Filter Finder makes finding the perfect one quick and easy.

How do i get hot tub to heat?

Hi Tracie,
There are many reasons a tub will not heat. The first and easiest thing to do, is remove the filters and see if the tub heats. Often times, a dirty or clogged filter will keep the tub from activating the necessary heater safety devices, resulting in no heat. If the tub will not heat with the filters removed, give our technical department a call at 800-823-3638, 6am-5pm Pacific, Monday through Friday and we’d be happy to walk through some other steps to get your tub back on track.
Thanks,
Brian
