As the daylight hours start to dwindle this time of year, more and more people are enjoying their hot tubs after dark. Cooler temperatures and relaxing in the night air make autumn the best time of year to enjoy your spa! You can further enhance your hot tub experience with a little mood lighting. We’ll show you how to make this simple yet elegant chandelier, below!
What You’ll Need
- Vine Wreath of desired size
- Heavy duty metal twine
- 3 strands of outdoor lights
- 1-2 safety hooks
We picked up this grape vine wreath at the local craft store for $17.99, the twine for $6.99 and each set of Target Room Essentials Outdoor Light Strands for $11.99 each. Safety hooks can be found at your local hardware store for under $5.
Step 1
Cut two lengths of twine that will connect cross ways over your wreath, and meet in the center.
Once all four corners are connected, make a loop at the top where you will hang the chandelier.
Step 2
Now it’s time to start wrapping the chandelier with the light strands. Start at the hanging loop with the correct end with will attach to your extension cord or current outdoor light strands.
Now just keep wrapping the lights around the 4 twine strands and wreath.
Step 3
Once you’ve wrapped all three light strands, you’re ready to hang the chandelier!
IMPORTANT: Be sure that your mounting hook is secure and can support the weight of your chandelier. A latching safety hook should be used to ensure that the chandelier is securely mounted. Be sure to mount the chandelier so that it is not directly over the hot tub.
Step 4
Enjoy! Congratulations, you’ve made a beautiful inexpensive outdoor lighting feature sure to impress!
